AskAny.ai is a desktop AI assistant for macOS and Windows, plus a companion web app for account and chat access. This policy explains what data we process, when selected content is sent to AI providers, and what controls you have.

You choose the context
AskAny.ai does not need your entire screen or file system. It processes the text, files, screenshots, voice, or prompts you actively submit.
Provider routing is transparent
When you select an AI model, the prompt and attached context are sent to that model provider or your approved enterprise/BYOK route.
No selling personal data
We do not sell your personal data. We also do not use customer prompts or files to train AskAny-owned foundation models.
What data we process
The data we process depends on how you use AskAny. The categories below are designed to be specific enough for legal review and clear enough for normal users.
Account and billing data
Email address, login metadata, plan status, billing identifiers, invoice data, and support messages. Payments are handled by Stripe; AskAny.ai does not store full card numbers.
Content you actively submit
Prompts, selected text, selected files, cropped screenshots, voice/dictation inputs, model outputs, and saved chat history when you use features that require them.
Technical and security logs
Timestamps, app version, device/browser metadata, IP-derived security signals, error logs, usage counters, abuse-prevention data, and consent/cookie preferences.
Optional analytics
Where required by law, analytics and marketing cookies run only after consent. You can change or withdraw consent using the cookie controls on the website.
When content leaves your device
AskAny.ai works best when you attach context. We make that explicit: the selected context is sent only when you submit it to a model, feature, or workflow that requires cloud processing.
You pick text, files, voice, or a screenshot
AskAny.ai does not silently attach everything around you.
You choose the prompt and model
The provider may vary by selected model or enterprise routing settings.
Context is sent for inference
Provider-specific retention and training terms may apply.
History is stored only as needed
Saved chats support search and continuity; deletion requests can be made by email.
Legal bases, retention, and transfers
Legal bases under GDPR
- Contract performance: account, app access, billing, AI features.
- Consent: optional analytics/cookies and optional product features where required.
- Legal obligation: tax, accounting, and statutory retention duties.
- Legitimate interests: security, fraud prevention, troubleshooting, service reliability.
Retention
We keep account and billing records as long as required to provide the service and meet legal obligations. Chat history and submitted content may be retained to provide history/search features unless deleted or unless a business agreement specifies another retention setup.
International transfers
Some providers may process data outside the EU/EEA. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Data Processing Agreements, Standard Contractual Clauses, and provider-specific transfer mechanisms.
Enterprise and BYOK
Enterprise teams have a self-serve dashboard to configure Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) routing and enforce model visibility. When active, selected model traffic routes directly through your customer-controlled provider accounts, enforcing your own provider contract, logging, retention, and billing settings.

Does AskAny.ai watch my whole screen?+
No. AskAny.ai is command-based. It processes selected text, explicitly selected files, cropped screenshots, voice input, or prompts you submit. A cropped screenshot feature sends the captured region, not continuous screen recordings.
Are my prompts or files used to train AI models?+
AskAny.ai does not train its own foundation models on your prompts or files. For third-party AI providers, handling depends on the provider, plan, route, and contract. AskAny-managed business/API routes are configured to use no-training options where supported. With BYOK, your provider account and provider contract control training, logging, and retention.
Can AskAny.ai employees read my chats?+
Access is limited to what is necessary for support, security, debugging, abuse prevention, legal obligations, and service operations. We design support workflows to minimize access to user content wherever possible.
Is AskAny.ai suitable for confidential or regulated data?+
Do not submit secrets, third-party confidential data, special categories of personal data, healthcare data, or regulated data unless you have the right to do so and an appropriate agreement and provider route are in place. Enterprise customers can request DPA/AVV, provider allow-lists, BYOK, and stricter retention settings.
Can I delete my data?+
You can request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, objection, or withdrawal of consent by contacting us. Some billing or legal records may need to be retained for statutory periods.
